5 'Fits 10/2/20
5 ‘fits for October 2nd. Randomly generated from the algorithm found in the smooth brains of the team of humble artisans at Skatelier.
Leo Valls is a polarizing figure. Skatelier staff is divided directly down the middle on whether or not he’s hurt or crackin’. He has repackaged downhill longboard moves into some kind of avantgarde street expression, which could be seen as gimmicky, but his work on SF hills makes it impossible not to take him seriously. He can also do pretty dope switch backside tailslides still. We could’ve chosen any number of photos to showcase his mastery of the slightly-oversized silhouette. Perfectly baggy pants that hit just at the top of the footwear are combined with great color blocking. He seems to prefer lightweight fabrics that flow and move with him while he’s sliding around all over the place and putting his feet on the ground and shit. Definitely backing his ‘kits!

ET Gagne started out on that Canadian dockworker appropriation hype (cuffed Dickies, long sleeve tee, tiny hat) that was going on 5-6 years ago and has ended up rocking some kinda alternate-dimension pool boy Cassanova ‘fits lately. Somewhere in the middle of that journey, he decided to bring the tan trenchcoat out and go full-on Inspector-Gadget at some ditch spot. This ‘fit just popped up in the middle of a clip a while back and the skateboard internet went crazy for 15 seconds. The Alltimers quarter-zip is really nice as well.

Speaking of all-tan ‘kits, Roger Krebs recently got activated in the new Snack video with matching cap, button-up, and oversized corduroys. “Coming out the soil” is a phrase we like to use here at Skatelier when someone has emerged onto the session sporting a nice garment, but in this case, it looks like Krebs has come up out the quicksand pit. Full tonal with the checker shoes is a cool look. He’s really dialed in on the giant wide-wales and slip-ons thing lately. Word around town is that he has been making his own pants as well, so we’ll keep our ear to the streets on that one and maybe provide a special report later on.

Earlier this week some younger guys from London put out a clip called CTMY SO3 that has a lot of weird B-roll and choice skating from some great up-and-comers. Somewhere in the mix of solid skating/gear from Kyle Wilson and Curtis Pearl there’s a clip of someone going gorp on a neat backside lipslide. Pretty rare to see somebody skating an Arc’teryx tee, especially in their proprietary “yukon” colorstory. He paired this one with a speed hat (North Face?) and some cargos like he just traipsed off the trail. Definitely rocking with this one.

Man…AO for LV. Look at homie perched up, board at the ready, taking in the sights and sounds of beautiful Los Angeles. One would hope he’d be scoping for fat bump-to-bars to bust on but he’s more than likely checking out dope places to model at. Or maybe good places to meditate. Or just daydreaming about any number of things that don’t involve skateboarding. The team of craftspeople at Skatelier don’t have a ton to say about the luxurious bags or the decadently understated bomber, but we did see the pair of swooshless Blazer GTs pop up on eBay shortly after this ad came out. They were added to the watch list but not purchased. Alex will see continuous coverage in this space.
